Hi my name is Chris, I also started the F-1 Scratchbuild forum, so to keep things pure and simple for those who like more than just open wheelers, I have started a Sports Cars site.
So please Start here and Introduce Yourself,
Chris

Great idea Chris. I'm David Mitcham from Wiltshire in the UK and I mainly build 1/32 F1 cars - as you know! I do build some sports and GT cars occasionally so will make some posts.
Best Regards
David

I'm Peter Seager-Thomas, and do the exact opposite of David. I build sports cars mostly and a few GP cars. Note GP not F1, most of the cars were active before F1 was invented....

Welcome Peter, any sports car is welcome except the dreaded Thunderbird, no nasty nascars here.

Hello everyone....I have happily accepted an invitation to join up. I am a scratch builder and resin body maker. I like mostly cars with the engine out front. I hope to see what others are doing and will share what I am up to when and where appropriate.
Regards John

Welcome Peter, any sports car is welcome except the dreaded Thunderbird, no nasty nascars here. Chris, I'd suggest consideration is given to what cars are eligible. i'll kick off by saying any car which competed in a World Sports Car Championship event is fine, as is any car which can be described as a 'racing sports car'. That said, that excellent site includes the Triumph Dolomite.... The Thunderbird, like most Nascars was never built as a Sports Car. BTCC and DTM cars might be sporty, but they are basically 'hot saloons', not sports cars. Please feel free to create a new board for this post, the subject is a good one for debate. Peter.

Hi lads. I must admit, these cars are rather more up my alley than the open wheelers(although I'm not sure anything looks more 'right' on a slot track than a classic 50s-60s GP). Hoping I can add something useful to the discussion and not annoy too many folk.
PS: Chris, does Mr Huber know you're moonlighting?

Hello I'm David from the UK. I've been racing slot cars since 1960 and scratchbuilding them since 1971. My passion is for grand prix cars as they are the purest form of racing but I have built quite a few 1950s and 1960s sports cars for retro open meetings over the last ten years, I also restore and race 1960s vintage slot cars. I'm not very busy building cars at the moment but will probably post something in the future.

Hi, I'm Stewart from Montreal, Canada. It's great to have a parallel web site to the f-one-thirty-two.proboards.com one for sports cars. I look forward to posting some builds here in the near future.

Hello all
David from Brisbane, Australia - I like making, collecting, driving and sometimes racing all sorts of slot cars. I shall drop by here and see what folks are sharing and share my builds as well. Next in my box of kits is a Lotus XI and then I have 2 MGs, an SSK, an SS100 and an Aston I want to build (Matchbox kits)
cheers DM

Hi all, Rosco from Melbourne, Australia. Been into/out of/back into slot cars since the very early '60's. Have been scratch building railway models for some 30 years. Recently completed my first scratch built slot car - Cooper T-53 which ran in this year's Tasman proxy series. Looking forward to watching what others are building on this new site - "something" might pop up here and become additive to my current plans for GP builds.
Congratulations, Chris - for creating this great new forum.
frats, Rosco

Hello and thanks for the invite! Many familiar names here. I'm looking forward to collaborating with all of you. My name is Max, from California, I like cars from the mid-1930s to the early 1970s, but mostly the ones from 1950 to about 1965. Current project is a Maserati A6GCS (body from Munter, hi John!) - it's headed to the Last Open Road proxy. Photos - next week, I'd guess. I like building with metal, and I often like to make mechanisms for my cars that operate similarly to those in real cars. I am trying to bring some small gears to market that might suit some of you here, as well as those in the F1 version of this forum. I will post further news on this as the project develops. Thanks, Chris, for making this page and the F1 page. Sometimes I go for many weeks without checking in (or working on my cars), but I always seem to come back eventually.
Max
