Thanks again David. I've had a search and it was a new picture that appeared in an obituary about John Coundley which appeared recently in the Daily Telegraph. Coundley is in the McLaren Elva (26) in between Jack's Brabham and Denny Hulme's Lola T70 (which won if I remember correctly - I was there at the time). Best Regards David David Can,t read a word of it but it looks a ringer. The rear end is a pain ! Attachments:

Hi David
Thanks again. Yes I've seen this and the text refers to a hillclimb car - I think an owner after the works team used it as such. However whether this is really the (only) BT17 or another modified BT8 I'm not sure. Its certainly lost the Repco engine (from the ride height I don't think it has an engine installed) and I don't believe the original BT17 had the outlets in front of the screen. Unfortunately when one tries to access the web page from which the photo comes it goes to a French site which requires a log in and password; I've tried to register without success (but that probably says more about me than the website!).
The BT17 still exists, apparently, in the USA but I've had no success in contacting the owner and neither has a very helpful guy at the Ron Tauranac archive.
Best Regards
David
