I was looking for a car to run in this year's International Proxy Series for pre-65 sports cars and feeling a little bad that I had talked Immense Miniatures into producing a Denise McCluggage figure but had not yet used one. I spent quite a lot of time going over the list of eligible cars but couldn't find anything other than a Porsche 550 Spider that fit the bill and was easy to get hold of. This is not an accurate build to any of the various Porsche 550s that Denise drove. More a tribute car at the moment. I intend to tackle transforming either a Ninco or Revell 550 into the 550A RS that Denise owned and ran for many years, but that is a ways down the track. The Ninco is typical clam-shell style design, so the chassis section was cut away from vehicle body work and replaced with a brass chassis. The driver had some surgery and the car was painted with Alclad II Aluminium and clear coated with Tamiya Semi-gloss. It all finished up a bit of a rush but it's doing the job. A horror smash into a wall in the second round in Greece had me tempted to withdraw the car but it seems to be running fairly well on other tracks.

That's a neat little build. I'm getting quite a liking for the Porsche racers of the later 1950s.
I have an RSK to build, the body of which probably comes from the same supplier of your Lotus 11 body.
Peter.

There just seems to be so many slight variations with these Spyders. Suzy Dietrich's with no venting over the rear wheels. Then this RS which seems to have some venting. And then there's those with louvred vents as were seen on the 600 series. Argh!
