1965 Lotus 40 Jim Clark

Been a while.

Just back and have acquired several shells/kits.

Looking to break myself gently back into it with a GTM Lotus 40.
Problem I'm having is that I cannot find any photo's of Clark's #4 Lotus 40.
Anyone help?

Welcome back Brian.

I don't think the GTM Lotus 40 is based on a particular car from a specific race - I couldn't find a picture of it with number 4 either when I built mine.  Consequently I built it as number 8 from the Brands Hatch 1965 Guards Trophy race. However even that isn't strictly right - for example that car only had part of the exhaust plumbing exposed and I'm not sure the nose opening is right either.  the links below provide a couple of photographs of the BH car.

Hi David,

Well after checking out your links I've decided to do Clark's 1965  Lotus 40 that he raced at Brands Hatch 1965 Guards Trophy too.

Working on a few cars at the same time so this may take a while.

Yes it has  a pod and goes not to bad.

Top coats applied today, time to dry/harden and then let the polishing begin.

Screen not attached as clear coat to apply after a final polish. Head light lens to do as well as name decals to make.
