Its been some time since I posted anything on the Forum due to a long summer break spent with my family rather than slot cars although the grandchildren did have good time on my track. I've been easing myself back in with some GTM kit builds in the form of three Alfa Romeos - two T33s and a Periscopica. I've built the cars much as intended but I have made some detailed changes. With the closed T33, #42, I decalled it as the 1968 BOAC 1000km, Brands Hatch car of Richard Attwood and Nino Vaccarela. The open T33, #192, is the Lucian Bianchi/Mario Casoni Targa Florio car; the main difference to the GTM kit is the positioning of a the rear view mirror at the top of the door frame rather than two on the front wings. The changes to the Periscopica were a bit more drastic in that I removed the fins from the lower front of the car as the version I built, the Andrea De Adamich/Jean Roland 1967 Targa Florio car, didn't have them. Nor did it have mirrors on the front wings but rather an oblong mirror on the dash (made out of half round plastic rod). I bought decals from Le Mans Decals (I can recommend them) rather than using the ones in the kit. All three Alfas use the standard GTM chassis (all sidewinders), Slot.it gears and SRP 18k S-can motors. They all perform well on my track.
