At least two Bizzarrini P538s were built with Chevrolet Corvette 327-cu.in. V-8s – two others had Lamborghini V12s. The body was made of fiberglass over a tubular steel chassis. The first V-8 powered car debuted at Le Mans in 1966, with Swiss drivers Edgar Berney and Andre Wicky, but the team retired after three hours with a cooling problem.
I wouldn’t claim my car is a scratch build but thought that as its a fairly unusual car it might just qualify as a thread entry on this Forum. I bought the body pre-painted from French resin kit supplier GMC and more or less assembled it as supplied apart from a full interior. The chassis is a Penelope Pitlane sidewinder and the wheels are from a Fly GT40.
