Let's start from the cars that completed the shakedown:
-15 during it she lost the right rear screw then the front bodypost broke, epoxied back
-111 too much noise, cockpit gone loose and right rear tire was rubbing it as shown by the tire wear

fixed it back in place with new scotch.
-152 one of the lead wires was wrapped around the front axle preventing it from running freely, fixed
Then the cars that DNS
-88 motor popped out of the mounts, fitted back in place, but in the process i noticed that the motor shaft was rubbing too tight against the crown

i filed the crown a bit and it gained 400 rpm at the wheels
-37 rear axle blocked, crown had slipped was pressing firmly against the pinion, fixed
-4 rear axle almost blocked, the tungsten(?) material used as ballast had started wrapping around the axle and ,as it turned out by the surgery that followed, had found its way into the bushings.

In the process i noticed also that the pinion was rubbing against the crown.
I removed the wheels but was impossible to remove the crown applying heat with a 150W soldering iron so i got the dremmel and cut the axle to remove the crown ,then fitted a new axle.I tried to salvage the crown but as a last resort if used the blow torch which resulted in melting the plastic part of the crown which continued its existence as an axle stopper. Then filed slightly the pinion to prevent it from rubbing against the crown. The only problem is that i had not a 25z piece in my spares box and fitted a 26z one,the result is that the car is now clocking 5100 rpm at the wheels instead of 4600 that used to when it arrived in march
All set for the race,Sunday
