Would like to build an early 1965 Ford GT40. The body style that appeared at Daytona and Sebring that year. Many kits/bodies are available for the original Ford GT 40 with the "slit" nose. Scalextric (Or someone!) now offers a later version of the car with the open nose BUT the nose is more rounded and longer( ?) than the Daytona/Sebring cars Have kits of the older car to use a a base for this but have been trying to find "plans" comparing the evolution from the original nose to the squared version as it appeared at those two races. Have asked for help from the 1 to 1 Ford GT40 clubs but they want a bunch for membership without any guarantee they can provide the drawings. Any suggestions/help? Thanks.

Yup. That's the one. The body from the mid nose back "appears" to be unchanged from the car that originally was campaigned during most of 1964 (Nassau may be the exception) but the nose was changed by Shelby when they took over the program. Bigger opening, lower down but NOT as round as the car that was run as a 1965 later (Lemans, etc.) on. The body is still straight and would not accommodate the wide tires used later in the season. That car is "curvy".
