I've always had a soft spot for those ugly little brutes called Cheetah's, here's a great one from "Pike" in Belgium. Body and chassis are George turner items, all mechanic parts are Slot-it, the motor is NSR and the tyres are BRM.

Gorgeously brutal thing and if anyone could ever do a Cheetah justice it's George. I recall his superb 1/64th scale static models including a lovely Cheetah. Martin

Is there any reason why it SHOULD be quicker, Peter?

Martin,
It should be quicker because it has a slot-it side-winder chassis, which are usually way up there in performance.
As Peter says "it's about due for attention to weight distribution."
Modern plastic 1/32 slot cars even though some have plastic chassis have progressed in sophistication, and are quite fast even compared to brass chassis counterparts. (Providing they ar exact 1/32 replicas, and not super low lexan bullets).
