I picked up this shell some years ago. It needs quite a bit of work to clean it up and remove excess resin material as it is a slush casting from what I imagine is an original carving as some of the sanding marks are evident in the shell. I think a light rub down and a decent primer should deal with those.

Hi Eric, I look forward to progress on this one. The very good Le Mans Miniatures 'piano wire' wheels are again listed by LMM. www.gts-series.com/fr/recherche.htmlA closer look at the image of the P/E fret will show that included in the wheel kit are all the other photo-etched parts from the LMM model. Peter.

It is with a degree of shock that I viewed the date of the original post. Anyway work has continued on the shell. (pictures later). I am trying to understand and therfore reproduce how the exhausts exited the body, the only clear reference I can find is a die-cast showing a row of six?? pipes exiting the rear body under the centre rear of the car. Can anyone shed some light please? Thank you. Eric

Hi Eric, This should help, but it's probably the same one you found.

Why have just 6 pipes for a straight 8 engine? Time to consult the books....
Peter.

Thank you Chris, not seen that view before. Yes indeed Peter why six pipes? One trusts that the amount of money these detail die-casts cost they would get it right. Thanks for the picture and the replies. regards Eric
