Well, I went ahead with the home printed (white paper) decals, and cut out the numerals with an x-acto. Results are actuall pretty decent, and they conformed to the compound curves of the car beautifully! One thing is nagging at me, I can't determine whether there was a #50 on the rear deck! :/ I may be printing another sheet of decals if that is the case. Once that is resolved, it's a few coats of Testors clear gloss, then brightwork.

Hmm, but on the models the number on the side looks too far forward, but mine may be too far back Ach! these tiny blurry photos!

It's different side to side. right side only, has a door, so it looks like they moved the numbers to miss the door hinges.

Marc, that painted body looks fantastic. I continue to follow the build. Regards John

Some progress and corrections. Added the number on the boot, and moved the numbers on the flanks forward a bit. Clear over decals, and foil discs and lenses in the headlight wells. Need the clear to dry a couple days before I do any maskin gfor the brightwork. Got the wheels in from Pendle's after they got lost at the local P.O. for a couple days. I need some proper tires. The body is just resting on the wheels here. The tires are even bigger on the side away from camera The wire wheels need some paint, but unlike the Pendle wheels, the Mitoos wheels' spinners are already attached. And very firmly it would seem. Would have preferred to have them off while painting the wheels

A little more progress. Stirling looks like he's sitting on a phonebook, though....

Mostly finished here except for tire glueing and truing. Weather was too bad to take outdoor photos. I'd really like to run this car, wish I had a 1:32 track setup.

Marc, What a beautifully clean and executed build. Love it.
How does the car perform with the chassis and where can you get them from (forgive me I've been away).
Thanks for sharing.

Brian, thanks! As to how the car performs, well I just have a single lane 1/43 track that this car, small as it is, can't get around. A couple people have asked about the chassis. I made a couple small changes, and have ordered a test-piece. If it checks out, I'll let you know. The page is up on Shapeways, but I have not cleared it for sale yet. Chassis on Shapeways
