1953 Jaguar C-type
I hope this qualifies as a scratch build - an AutoArt body all nicely painted with a terrible driver! This was my second scratch build completed a few years ago and could do with some refinements of what I have learned since - but seeing we have been asked to post - here it is warts and all.
Auto Art brought this car back into production it seems and for some strange reason I picked this up from amazon.ca! The finish of the body and detail is superb but someone working on the driver did not get the memo and forgot it was 1/32 scale so these superb bodies arrive with a miniature 1/43 scale driver (?) which is a shame. I never throw any parts away generally but this poor guy did not last long and was relegated to the trash can as soon as I could.
As expected the chassis too was pretty awful with it's front engine drive and square wheels. Super spoked hubs with the smallest font I have ever seen printed on the spinners. Again I went for a simple wood chassis with FF050 motor on the side so I can get a full driver figure in place. With the plastic light weight body this is quite fast as the motor to weight ratio is quite good. However my definition of "fast" is quite different to most slot racers and it's best seen on it's own!
Thanks for looking Regards
Richard
