I purchased this shell from the online auction site last year. It came sans any fittings and with quite a poor paint finish. I decided to give it a gentle polish and that improved the lustre. Parts are being gathered together and some thought being given to fabricating a grille. As to the actual cars, four were entered and non finished, each one succumbing to a breakdown. More details as the build progresses. The magazine in the background has an article on the restored 52 car so not directly relevant to this car.

A lovely piece, Eric....maybe you outbid me?
I have seen a couple of finished models and they are really sweet little things.
Following along now.

A nice little car and something different. I'd guess it is MMK. Their paint seems a bit hit and miss. It's incredibly strong, I assume a 2-pack of some sort, but the finish can be dire. My 'in tray' includes one MMK with a beautiful finish, one which has been stripped (not easy) and one which will probably be re-done in some way.
I look forward to seeing progress, thanks for posting.
Peter.

Thanks for your positive observations John & Peter. Peter yes I think it is probably an MMK body and the paint does have the appearance of two pack. Some progress, the chassis is set up ( PCS) and the wheels are Cartrix. The grille has been fabricated from brass strip. Work on the cockpit has started with a base and seat back from plasticard suitably shaped and an Immense Miniatures driver figure. Eric

yes this the MMK Gordini . The paint job on MMK's cars is often very poor and ....very strong , it's pretty difficult to come back to the resin body . I've mad the Panamericana version of this little car and it runs very nicely on our tracks .

After a few evenings here and there and a very damp Sunday afternoon the car is finished. I could have finished as any one of the four cars entered but after some deliberation number 37 was chosen the most successful of the cars completing 130 laps before retiring due to engine failure.
