Brian, may ask you...where did you get such small pins? I have a small stock of entomological pins, but I bought them when I was sweet 14. Nearly 50 years later I can't get any more!! They don't do such small ones any more, dammit!
Brian, the Aston is looking great, now for the The million-dollar question, what paint and colour did you use? Not that it'll be available in the states
The paint I've used is Halfords, Ford Forest Green as recommended by Dave Wisdom. It does look great. I'm still waiting for the Tamiya paint to arrive that you recommended Chris. I will be painting the other DBR1 with this paint when it arrives. I'm still undecided which car I will model it on.
Martin, Chris recommended the rivets to me and they are as Peter has posted, Scale Hardware. 0.7mm head rivets. No agent in the UK that I could find. Arrived within a week and a half (may have been a week).
Ah, so not pins at all. I have a need of some of their hex headed items for my 1/12th scale McLaren M8F model. I need a lot of them for the engine and gearbox, so might try ordering the "pins" at the same time. I might try Little Cars to see if they might be UK agents for Scale Hardware. Historex Agents are, for instance agents for Archer decals (and are cheaper than Archer!)
Driver to paint. Exhausts to paint, weather and fit. Weathering kit order Chris, cheers for the tip. Screen to tidy and secure once lacquered, including head light lenses and bezels. Anyone give me advice on how to get a high quality finish with the screen please? Decal lights to fit.
