On of Grahams wonderful Kits. I've been studying many pictures of this car. Some of which have numerals on a light blue roundel. I believe this is from an earlier race/car. I will be going with the decals supplied by Graham, therefore a white roundel.    Having problems finding the correct paint, but I will persevere. Brian |

Aha, it seems you are back into the swing of things.
I am tempted by this kit. Can you please advise the weight of the shell?
Getting back into things myself, I look forward to progress on this build.

Well the chassis, wheels etc, turned up today. Took me quite a while to set the ride height, which may need a little adjustment still. Slot.it contrate. NSR Shark 22k motor. Scaleauto deep guide Racer Ferrari 250LM Wheels & tyres Rear Ceramic ball bearings. Sitting on a PCS 32 Chassis   |

250 GT update. It took some work to get the paint finish to what I wanted. However, it's had three coats of Ford Royal Blue and I've started (nearly completed) the detailing. I love my current builds and hopefully be finishing them soon (on receipt of decals). Took the the 250 to my club last Thursday and was horrified when I broke a door handle off. Luckily, I've managed to repair it  . Here's the Ferrari as of today.   
I'm not looking forward to painting the front screen frame tomorrow. Sorry about the photo's. The natural light at the moment is so poor. Cheers. Brian |

Those wheels are superb, Brian, but the paint finish is a bit orange peeley compared with your other builds. Are you going to polish it up a bit?
That particular car looks so good in that particular colour, doesn't it?

Brian, for the front screen frame you might care to try a paint pen. I have a uniPAINT silver marker (made by Mitsubishi) which I used for the MGA Coupé screen surrounds. It has lasted about 5 years so far.....

Martin, The wheels are Racer 250 LM wheels and tyres, they do look good.  As for the paint. I have painted this car many times rubbed down and polished and repainted. The orange peel look has improved, but not gone totally away.  It's the top coat, because there primer finish was near perfect. This is one of the reasons my builds have taken so long this time, due to all the surface prep. I will continue to polish this car until the decals arrive. I do have to say to the naked eye, you can't see it (Dam those mega pixel camera's!). In fact the blue is much deeper. Thanks for the tip Peter, paint pen on order. Brian |

Brian, it can be the computer pics making things look worse! If you use rattle cans, do you warm them up first? If it's a spray gun or airbrush, it's the result of a wrong mix. Mind you, whatever you use, this odd variable weather doesn't help does it?!
With masters, I'm only spraying self-etch primer/surfacer from a spotting gun, so it doesn't really count.

Martin, I use Halfords rattle cans and yes I warm them prior to use. Here's the car as of today. I'm still awaiting the correct decals. This is holding up the 250TR also. Glazing is not secure. The car came with a set of decals (including a white bonnet/hood stripe), but I didn't use them as they were not for the car I've built.
I got these decals from Patto's.
Just hoping on Monday when I apply the clear all goes well.
