Some years ago I bought a painted example of the MMK Birdcage, and because my local club is now getting more earlier cars racing, this one came out of the box. A heavy body weighing in at a a hefty 29g, a little is being shed though I doubt it will go below 20g. For extreme weight loss I prefer an unpainted body which I can hold up to the light to gauge the thickness. Please double click images for a larger scale view. Initial work has been concentrated on the chassis, another heavy lump, mostly screwed together. The chassis is 18g steel (lightweight!) with 16g ally axle and motor brackets. The rear axle runs in flanged ball bearings. Still a lot of finishing on the chassis, but for the most part it is done. Peter.
