Hello friends Here is another small car , a Gordini T15 Le Mans 1950 . Fangio and Gonzales were the drivers and did not finish the race . Resin kit made by french manufacturer MMK with a Slot Classic chassis Wheels are by Auto Art ( same as the Jaguar type C ) but repainted . The pilot is by Protoslotkit as the original is absolutely awfull…. I used an old Ninco NC1 to motorize the car , it is not necessary to have big power on this type of model. Very simple paint job with a light weathering and a semi gloss varnish. It will be perfect with my other little french racing cars , as the Panamerican Gordini and the DB Panhard . I love these kind of cars , and they change from the « big » monsters of this period. Hope you'll enjoy it even if it's far from perfect . Need new glasses !!

As usual Olivier a fantastic build.
A couple of questions, Who's wheels are those? and
what technique do you use for the fantastic weathering?
Great stuff...Chris

thanks a lot Chris . The wheels : on the Gordini , they are coming from the Jaguar type C made by Auto Art a few years ago . I 'm lucky enough to have a stock of these wheels as I had a nice email contact with Auto Art and they were ok to sale a stock to me . Why these wheels : because they look really ok on my car . On the market we only can find BRM spoked wheels . they are pretty nice but they look " Italian " and for me they don't fit with french cars , or on some british cars . I'd like to find some Peter Seager wheels which are fabulous , but I think he stopped the production . Weathering : I use pastel chalks powder ( correct ?) I obtain my powder scratching my pencils on different sand paper . To apply the colours , I use .....my wife's make up material ! You can find the best hits and tips about weathering in Railroad or militaria models books .

Hi again Olivier,
Peter may have some wheels, he's an administrator here and checks in every day, ask him if he has any. I agree with you the BRM wheels are very "Ferrari", and American Ferrari at that. (Flashy and unsophisticated).
Pastels and chalks...I have those, time to try them out, I usually use them for exhaust systems.
Thanks Chris

A nice build of an unusual car; certainly not run of the mill.
No smaller wheels left I'm afraid.
The BRM wheels do at least permit painting though there are aspects I don't like, such as the ease with which they are damaged.
Peter.
